Marketing Experience
I have worked with My Virtual Academy, an online K-12 education program based out of Clinton Township, MI which works to give students a chance at a high quality education without having to attend a traditional school. Here I worked to help develop marketing plans for the business, as well as other schools partnered with it, as a marketing assistant and adviser to the company. Education is a passion of mine and it is such an important thing that can have so much impact on a individual's life. I worked to help reach as many students as possible, so MVA can help to educate and change as many lives as possible. It is part of my family's business,ATS, so I wanted to help them however I could use my skills the best. I worked a more in depth role at ATS from the summer of 2017 until the end of the year as a marketing intern. Through this I worked on two marketing plans, worked with video production, and took a lead role in supporting and a resource for equipment for video production, including building a computer for the company, picking a camera and microphone combo, and teaching the marketing team how to record, edit, and stream content. Here I learned how to work with fellow employees as well as our end users(the students) to help market and grow the company.
Sales Work
In a sales capacity, I have worked at Menards, a hardware store in Holland MI, as well as many other locations in the Midwest. There I worked as a salesman in the flooring department.\ working on the sales floor of the store, working with guests to the store to make sure they have all that they need to complete the project that they were working on. Here I learned (among many home improvement related skills) proper sales skills, how to work with co-workers, how to work with customers, as well as learning how to showcase products that the business is selling. Here I was able to use my social skills and my talents of being able to work with others and make them feel cared about to help customers leave happy, as well as make sales for the store.
